I saw so many classics on the channel for the first time. Stuff like Fantastic Planet and 4-D Man I thought I'd never get the chance to see.

This is so nostalgic. Whenever I see these, I'm a 15 year old kid again watching something cool or crazy on space.

"Don't tell mom the babysitter is dead" was a fun movie. Not every movie needs to be thought provoking. "Nothing but trouble" may have been bad, but it was bold and original.

Nothing But Trouble was disturbing to me even as a kid.

I liked The Quickening better as a Deep Space Nine episode.

No shortage of crappy infomercials and spots for dating websites, but nice to see random appearances of things like THE FOREST RANGERS and THE IMMORAL MR. TEAS (when Bravo would play such fare) in there.

It's interesting they didn't pick a well known critic like Rex Reed to be Ebert's new co-host. I think Ebert wanted a new co-host he could dominate.

Give Halle Berry credit - she at least knows Catwoman was a terrible movie, but she completely owns it. She even showed up in person to accept her Razzie!

Roger did a great job of keeping his composure throughout this tribute, and it was very well done! 10:58 breaks my heart though because for Roger, looking over to that seat across from him came so naturally, and in the middle of his statement, he does it out of reflex but is quickly reminded that there is no one over there. That had to be a tough realization!

Carson was amazing and he set the bar for all others who followed. Leno was also awesome, in a different sort of new generation way. Letterman was fantastic in another way and perfect as the host of the Late Show, but not the right fit for the Tonight Show. Kimmel and Colbert are mean nasty unfunny partisan jerks. Fallon isn’t politically nasty like Kimmel or Colbert, but he is a total lightweight and his incessant fake giggling at every word a guest says is very annoying. Craig Ferguson was the funniest of the new generation, and it was weird he didn’t get the nod to succeed Letterman instead of Colbert. Surprisingly, Conan who was horrible during his short Tonight Show stint, ended up later putting the closest resemblance to the (Carson/Leno) Tonight Show together while on TBS. Unfortunately, nobody watches TBS so he never got much of a chance with ratings. Now Ferguson and Conan have left late night altogether. For my money, Fox’s Gutfield is the best late night show on now, but that’s more a reflection on how sucky the others are rather than on how great he is….

I never watched this movie. But it looks great. One thing in general about kung fu movies in the 90s, they were original and authentic in action. My childhood was filled with enjoyment 🤗😁

Thanks for posting this. I grew up watching S&E. They helped foster my love of movies, a passion I have to this day. (Oh, how I’ve missed going to the theater over the last year.) They were both too soon taken to the big balcony in the sky.

One of the last times CBC Television would sign off for the night. They stopped doing so permanently in October of that year.

Andrew Dice Clay is a case study in pre-PC culture. The PC narrative is that before Political Correctness came along, anything went. That is a lie. Clay was pre PC. He was rejected before Political Correctness came along. People rejected Clay because he was a jerk.

It's interesting how perceptions can change. I remember when people dumped on Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead and used it as a punchline, but now you rarely hear about it. I guess it's a combination of much worse movies coming out and the movie coming to be regarded as something of a cult classic. People used to rag on it and now they just say, "Oh, yeah, that was a thing," or, "You know, I never did think it was such a bad movie."

I never told that to anyone, until now.
